체육수업에서의 교육 소외 학생 수업 적응 과정: 인문적 체육교육으로

본 연구는 체육수업에서 소외된 학생들을 대상으로 실시한 사례연구로서 소외 원인과 원활한 수업 참여를 위한 극복 방안을 찾는 데 목적이 있었다. 이에 인문적 체육교육의 실천모형인 하나로수업모형을 체험하기 전(前)과 후(後)의 학생들 모습을 비교 탐색하여 의미 있는 변화 과정을 살펴보았다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 경남 소재의 S중학교 3학년 4명의 학생을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 비참여 및 참여관찰, 심층면담, 학생의 체육일기 작성 등의 방법을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료 분석은 귀납적 분석방법을 활용하였으며, 분석 및 해석의 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 자료의 진실성 문제 해결을 위해 다각도 분석법, 구성원 간 검토, 전문가 협의의 방법을 활용하였다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인문적 체육교육을 경험하기 이전 학생들은 체육에서의교육 소외 학생이었다. 소외원인은 개인의 운동학습능력의 부족, 교사의 강요뿐인 체육방법, 단순한 체육수업으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인문적 체육교육을 경험 한 후 학생들의 변화는 의미 있는 과정을나타내었다. 인문적 체육교육의 적용과 더불어 학생들은 ‘해볼 만한 수업’, ‘역시 난 안돼!’,‘체육! 신나고 재미있는 것을…’과 같은 긍정과 부정의 반복적인 작은 변화가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 인문적 체육교육의 방법이 보다 더 효과적으로 소외 학생들에게 긍정적 영향을 미칠수 있는 방안을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 서사적 활동을 비롯한 직․간접체험활동의 다양화이다. 이는 학교의 환경과 학생의 수준에 맞는 새로운 활동을 연구하여 제시함으로써 맞춤교육과 자기선택교육이 가능하게 하기 위한 것이다. 둘째, 간접교수활동에 대한 교육이다. 간접교수활동의전반적인 내용을 직전교사교육과 현직교사들을 대상으로 연수가 이루어져야 한다. 이와 같이 선행된다면 소외학생에 대한 자연스러운 대응과 대처로 학생들을 교육의 장으로 이끌 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study is a case study that was conducted with students alienated from PE, and aims to find out reasons why the students had to be alienated, along with solutions that smoothly induce them to participate in PE. Hereupon, this study observed changes in students’ behaviors and attitudes before and after taking the class model which is one of practice models of introductory PE. Four third grade students of middle school located in Gyungnam province was chosen as a target group. Data were collected by non-participation/participation observation,interview, and students’ diary of PE. Inductive analysis method was utilized to analyze collected data, along with the triangulation of information, member check, and expert consultation to resolve the credibility issue which may occur during the process of analysis and interpretation. The result is as followed. First, students were alienated from PE before experiencing HOPE, and the reasons were the lack of personal ability to learn exercise, the way of PE only forced by teachers, and simple, tedious physical class. Second, students experienced significant changes after having HOPE. With application of HOPE, students showed small changes of repetitive “yes” and “no”, such as “I can do it”, “I can’t do it”, “PE, how exciting it is…!”. Based on such result, this thesis suggested the way of HOPE method influencing alienated students more effectively as follows: Firstly, it is the diversification of direct or indirect experiencing activities,including narrative one. In other words, it is intended to enable customized education and self-chosen education by researching and presenting new activities suitable for the school environment and the level of students. Secondly, it is an education on indirect teaching activity. Trainings should be offered to previous and incumbent teachers on overall contents of indirect teaching activity. If the foregoing is preceded, natural responses and measures toward alienated students will induce them to the education venue.
