Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the Validity of CAPL-2 for Korean elementary school students and to measure their Physical Literacy level. The subjects consisted of 163 students from the 3rd to 6th grade at a public elementary school in D city of Korea. Data were collected, using the measurement protocols in the four domains of CAPL-2. For data analysis, reliability verification, suitability verification for CAPL-2 factor structure, and Physical Literacy level analysis were performed, using SPSS 26 and AMOS 27 program. The results showed that first, the CAPL-2 total score of the study participants averaged 54.32 (75 points), and significant positive correlations were found among the four domains. Second, as a result of validation of the fit for CAPL-2 model, all the fit indices were above .9 (CFI=.984; TLI=.976; IFI=.984). Third, as a result of analyzing the Physical Literacy level, more than half of the students had the recommended level of Physical Literacy in three other domains except for the daily behavior domain. Also, it was statistically significant that male students performed better than female students (t=2.339, p<.05), but there was no statistically significant difference between grades (F=1.515, p>.05). This study showed the possibility that CAPL-2 could be used as a measurement tool for elementary school students in Korea, and CAPL-2 showed that Physical Literacy level of the participants was relatively higher than Chinese and Greek children.
