본 연구는 우월전략이 없는 다자간 딜레마(사회적 딜레마) 상황에서 집단(사회)내 구성원들의 협력 가능성을 분석한다. 구성원들의 유형이 사적정보인 상황에서 협력의 조건과 해(균형)가 도출된다. 분석의 주요 함의는 불완비정보가 소멸됨에 따라 협력의 가능성이 커질 수 있다는 것이다. 그러나 이 이론적 예측은 ‘용의자의 딜레마’ 게임의 실험적 연구에서 하나의 고전이 된 샤피르-트버스키(Shafir-Tversky, 1992)의 결과와 다르다. 또한 행태경제학에서처럼 집단 내 구성원들이 제한된 합리성을 갖는다는 가정하에 구성원들의 전략의 진화적 안정성과 사회적 진화의 방향을 검토한다. 분석결과 균형에서 모두가 바람직하지 않은 사회적 함정에 빠질 가능성이 매우 낮다는 사실이 보여진다. 이는 장기적으로 집단적 진화의 방향이 바람직한 경로의존성을 띨 가능성이 크다는 사실을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study examines the possibility of individuals’ cooperation in a population(society) in th presence of multi-person dilemma situation. Under the incomplete information about individual’s type, we derive the condition for cooperation and solution(equilibrium). From this analysis, the main implication is that as incomplete information disappears, the cooperation rate can increase. This theoretical prediction is in contrast to the Shafir and Tversky’s experimental result(1992) which is one of the classics in experimental research on the Prisoner’s dilemma game. Using the evolutionary approach we also investigate the evolutionary stability of individual strategies and the direction of population move over time. It is found that the possibility of social trap where all people will be losers is very low. This suggests that the multi-person dilemma could involve in cooperation. This, in turn, implies that a society will be likely to have desirable path dependency reflecting social evolution. The solution obtained here is turn out to be consistent. That is a very meaningful solution.
