플립드 러닝(Flipped Learning)을 적용한 탐구식 역사학습의 실제

본 연구는 플립드 러닝을 역사학습에 접목하려는 의도에서 출발하였다. 최근 자기주도적 학습을 위하여 일명 거꾸로 교실로 불리우는 플립드 러닝 열풍이 뜨겁다. 현장에서 일부 교사들이 개별적으로 실천하고 있으나 정작 교과교육 차원에서 연구가 아직까지는 미흡하다. 이에 플립드 러닝을 역사학습에 적용하는 연구를 진행하였다. 역사학습은 사건명, 인명, 문화재 등 학습내용이 많아서 설명에 의존한 지식전달형 수업이 될 가능성이 크다. 또한 사전에 학생들이 학습내용을 인지한 후 본 수업을 하게 되면 더욱 원활한 수업이 가능하기에 역사학습에 플립드 러닝의 적용이 필요하다. 이에 플립드 러닝을 적용한 역사학습 컨텐츠를 개발하여 역사학자 체험 모델, 문화재 탐구 모델, 지리적 입지 탐구 모델의 세 종류를 개발하여 수업 컨텐츠를 작성하였다. 이를 통해 학생들이 사전에 학습 내용을 학습한 후 탐구 시간과 사전지식을 확보하여 본 수업에서는 보다 심도 있는 수업을 진행할 수 있게 될 것이다. 아울러 앞으로 본 연구가 플립드 러닝을 교과교육에 적용하려는 후속 연구에 시사점을 줄 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
This study started from the intention to combine flipped learning with history education. Recently, for self-directed learning, there is a fever of reverse teaching, so-called flipped learning. In the field of education, some of the teachers are practicing it individually; however, the results of research conducted from the perspective of subject education are not yet enough. Therefore, this author performed research applying flipped learning to history education. History learning deals with a lot of learning contents such as event names, person names, and cultural heritages, so it tends to be in a knowledge-delivering class largely depending on explanation. Also, if students are aware of learning contents before the class, the class may operate much more smoothly; therefore, it is needed to apply flipped learning to history learning. This is why this author developed history learning contents applying flipped learning. When students learn contents in advance, the class tends to be more profound in terms of exploration hours and prior knowledge. It is expected that this research can provide implications for follow-up research intending to apply flipped learning to subject education.
