인공지능 시대의 도덕⋅윤리과 공화주의 시민교육의 방향

이 연구는 현재 그리고 미래에 인공지능이 인간에게 미칠 수 있는 중대한영향과 관련하여 도덕⋅윤리과가 다루어야 할 윤리적 과제를 ‘지배(domination)’의문제로 조망하고, 지배의 최소화 내지는 제거를 목표로 하는 정치 이론인 공화주의, 그리고 공화주의 이론에 근거한 공화주의 시민교육이 인공지능과 인간의 평화로운공존을 위해 어떠한 의의를 갖는지를 탐색한다. 미래 사회에서는 정치적 힘과 경제적힘을 지닌 사람들이 인공지능을 수단으로 자신들이 지닌 지배력을 더욱 강화해 나가게 될 것이고, 이에 따라 정치적⋅경제적 불평등이 심화될 것으로 예상된다. 이와같이 인공지능으로 무장한 권력자들을 견제할 수 있는 시민적 역량을 함양하는 것이인공지능이 고도로 발달하게 될 시대에 도덕⋅윤리과 공화주의 시민교육이 나아가야할 방향이다. 공화주의적 자유는 매력적인 정치적 이상이며, 이러한 자유의 이상이미래 시민교육의 방향을 적절히 안내하도록 해야 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the ethical challenges we need to solve in relation to the impact of artificial intelligence on humans in the present and future from the perspective of ‘domination’, and to examine the meaning of republicanism, a political theory aimed at minimizing or eliminating domination, and republican citizenship education for peaceful coexistence of artificial intelligence and humans. In the future society, people with political and economic power will further strengthen their dominant power through artificial intelligence, which could intensify political and economic inequality. In this way, cultivating citizens' capabilities to look directly into the eyes of powerful people armed with artificial intelligence is the direction that republican citizenship education should move forward in the era of artificial intelligence. Freedom as non-domination is an attractive political ideal, and this ideal of freedom must guide the direction of our citizenship education in its own desirable way.
