천년의 장구한 역사를 지닌 신라는 크게 上代·中代·下代의 3시기로 구분되어져 왔다. 여기서 상대와 중대의 분기점이 무엇인가에 대한 근원적인 고찰이 필요했다 . 근본적으로 삼. 上代의 신라 사회는 유례 없는 전시체제였다. 신라 사회의 모든 시스템이 그에 맞게 설정되었다 . 국왕의 지위와 성격은 종교적 주술성을 벗어버리기 어려웠지만 명백히 군사령관이기도 하였다 . 그러나 신라의 삼국통일과 더불어 전시체제 국가의 終焉을 가져 왔다 . 中代의 신라는 일종의 계엄시대 , 終熄과 시대를 같이 하였다. 이때 지방장관은 군정관에서 민정관으로 그 성격이 교체되었다 . 中代 신라는 왕권의 불안정에서 안정으로 , 영토의 가변성에서 정형성을 얻게 되었다 . 그러한 근본적인 動因은 動亂의 종식에서 기인한 것이었다 . 상대와 중대의 근본적인 차이점은 왕실 혈통의 문제가 아니라 動亂의 종언에서 비롯된 것으로 볼 수 있었다 . 958 년 광종대의 과거제 시행은 족벌에 기반을 둔 전통적인 호족적 기반의 완전 붕괴를 초래하였다. 지배구조와 지배 세력의 완전한 교체가 10세기 중반에 이루어진 것이다 . 이것을 기점으로 古代에서 中世로의 이행을 말할 수 있을 것 같다 .
Abstract
Sila, which has one thousand of long history, has ben toughly divided into 3 periods ;Begining-periode(上代), Middle-periode(中代), and Later-periode(下代the turning point from Begining-periode to Later-periode is should be needed at this moment. B a s i c a l y , S i l a o f t h r e k i n g d o m s h a d g o n e t h r o u g h w a r o f l asting consistency. Silla's society of e can't find a parallel case in our history. 2 新羅文化 第 25輯Silla's society was set up to adjust all systems to war structure organizing. So it was not easy that king's position and characteristic of Sila was removed from the religious incantation.But Silla could fre itself from it's war structure organizing with unification. Sila's Middle-periode was started with an end of, what is caled, the era of guarding against danger. And thereafter the characteristic of a provincial governor was replaced from a comander of the troops into a leader of civil afairs. And more, Sila's Middle-periode changed the instability of the royal authority into stability, the alterability of it's territory into continuation. Such an essential motive was caused by the end of war.Thus, we have a conclusion that the fundamental difference between Begining-periode and Middle-periode is originated not in the matter of royal lineage, but in the end of war which had lasted for centuries.
