본 연구의 목적은 한국어교육에 적용 가능한 전래동화 다독 활동을 적용한 수업의 구성을 알아보고 이러한 전래동화 다독 활동이 한국어 읽기 능력에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 전래동화를 활용한 한국어교육을 위한 기초적인 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 첫째, 전래동화 다독 훈련을 적용한 한국어 읽기수업이 한국어를 모국어로 사용하지 않는 외국인들 읽기능력 향상에 탁월한 효과를 주는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 한국어를 문법이나 어휘 등의 분절하는 방법보다 이해하기 쉬운 이야기를 다독함으로 읽기의 유창성을 향상시켜 다양한 상황과 어휘에 친숙하게 되어 자연스럽게 한국어 읽기능력을 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 둘째, 전래동화 다독 훈련은 언어교육의 필수요소인 문화이해를 위한 사고력 향상에 효과적이다. 주입식 교육방법을 통한 한국어교육은 언어가 가지고 있는 의미(meaning) 즉 문화적 측면의 언어를 설명하기에 역부족이다. 전래동화의 다독을 적용한 방법은 학습자 스스로 의미를 발견하고 문화의 차이를 이해 할 수 있는 배경지식을 주어 학습자에게 내적인 동기유발을 유도할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 전래동화 다독 활동을 적용한 한국어교육이 한국어가 능숙하지 않은 외국인의 한국어 읽기능력을 향상에 긍정적인 효과를 주었음을 검증하였고, 전래동화가 민족의 고유문화 및 정체성을 자연스럽게 알리며 한국어교육에 있어 읽기를 비롯하여 말하기⋅듣기⋅쓰기의 언어적 기능을 고루 향상시킬 수 있는 중요한 가치를 가진 자원임에 앞으로 효과적인 한국어교육의 실용적 방안으로 활용할 수 있는 기초 자료를 제시하였다.
Abstract
The objective of this study, which applies the Korean folk tales extensive reading activity is to study and develop a Korean reading skills that can be applied to actual Korean classes. For this purpose, this study proposes Korean folk tales extensive reading methodologies for foreigner into Korean classes to help to improve the Korean reading skills of foreigner more effective and efficient. Based on the findings, the following suggestions should be considered for improving the Korean-education class model for foreigners :First, Korean fold tales extensive reading activity into Korean reading class which is important methods of Korean-education advanced by the Korean reading class, helping foreigners grow their Korean reading fluency, comprehension and motivation to learn language increases. Also it is thought that traditional fairy tales are useful since Korean language in the fairy tales includes practical vocabularies. Second, extensive reading method developed by this study on the basis of Korean Folk tales into Korean reading class is helping to improve of foreigners's understanding for cultural differences. In conclusion the paper mentions that there are many merits achieved by using fairy tales to teach and learn practical Korean and suggests this extensive reading method be applied by Korean classes.
