This paper has two aims. One is to examine the attitudes of native Chinese speakers towards learning Korean vocabulary. The study also attempted to examine the types of vocabulary learning strategies employed by native Chinese speakers. For this essay I followed Schmitt (1997) and conducted a survey. I found native Chinese speakers’ awareness of learning attitude toward Korean vocabulary. At the same time, it investigated the strategies that learners used to acquire vocabulary. I found that successful learners efficiently use certain strategies. Therefore, we can utilize the successful strategies of native Chinese speakers to upgrade the teaching and learning of Korean vocabulary.
