日韓両国語における仏教系語彙の認知言語学的研究 ー語源と意味変化の類型ー

日韓両国語には数多くの仏教語が移入され、日常語の中に溶け込んでいる。しかし、我々はそれらを仏教語と意識することはほとんどなく、その語源も知らない場合が多い。まず先行研究での意味の類型化の基準が曖昧になっていることを指摘し、現代語で使用されている日韓両国語には、どのような仏教語が存在するのか、語源は何か、中国での漢訳は、音写語であったか意訳語(新造語)であったか、またどのような原義だったかなどを調べ、現代語として一般に使用されている日韓共通の仏教語の意味変化を認知言語学的視点から分析した。 本研究では、意味変化を類型化するための分析の基盤を作るのが目的であるため、その対象は日本語の仏教語を基にコーパスなどを通じて高い頻度数のものを選出した。その結果、隠喩、換喩、提喩などの比喩分析によって意味変化の相違を明示でき、先行研究と同様に日本語の仏教語の方が意義範疇が広い傾向にあることがわかった。しかし、その範疇は原義から意味拡大したものだけではなく、もともと中国で複数の義を含んだ仏教語が、日本へ伝わった後もそのまま保持されたものもあると推測できる。
Abstract
There are so many Buddhist words brought in from India through China to Japan and Korea. We usually speak using them without recognizing and understanding the etymology mostly. So I will research about the meaning of the Buddhist words of two languages relatively. First of all, I will trace the route of the Buddhist words which were introduced in Japan and Korea. Secondly, I would like to clearly specify the types of semantic change that were obscurely written from the previous research about semantic change. Thirdly, I investigated the different types of Buddhist words that exist in a daily conversation about what the etymology was in Sanskrit, what kind of Chinese translation (‘transliteration’ or ‘newly coined word’) used, and what the original meaning was used in China. Lastly, I subjectively analyze the semantic differences of its connotation when it is compared to Japanese and Korean Buddhist words. To make a basic analysis that will represent my justification in this paper. I used the etymology dictionaries, Buddhist dictionaries and after that, I use the corpus to select common terminologies of Buddhist words which are mainly the subject of this research. As a result, I figured out the figurative connotation of the original denotation by analyzing the metaphor, metonymy, and synecdoche. In the long run, the study is the same as the previous research and then I understood that the conceptual meaning of Buddhist words in Japanese tend to be the broadest. It is like an appropriated view that will not only magnify from the original meaning but also maintained its significance in Buddhist words after introducing it in Japan.
