중국인의 지역정체성과 지역갈등: 작용과 반작용* －중국 대도시지역권 사회신뢰 현상의 동질성과 이질성 분석을 중심으로－

이 연구에서는 사회자본의 중요한 구성요소가 되는 사회신뢰를 프리즘 삼아 중국의 지역별 정체성에 대해 논의해 보고자 하였다. 중국의 지역별 정체성은 중국을 대도시지역권으로 구분하고 이 지역들에서 나타나는 사회신뢰 현상의 동질성과 이질성을 중심으로 분석하였다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 지역권별로 사회신뢰 관련 요인들의 수준을 비교분석해 보았다. 이와 더불어 대도시지역권별 사회신뢰 인과변수들에 대한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 분석해 보면, 7대 대도시지역권 중에서 특히 동북 대도시지역권과 장강 대도시지역권은 다른 지역보다 상대적으로 더욱 높은 신뢰수준이 형성되어 있는 지역으로 판단된다. 이에 비해 중부 대도시지역권과 서부 대도시지역권은 다른 지역보다 상대적으로 더욱 낮은 신뢰수준이 형성되어 있는 지역으로 판단된다. 즉 동북 대도시지역권과 장강 대도시지역권은 상대적으로 높은 사회신뢰를 형성하고 있는 지역정체성이 특징적이라 볼 수 있고, 반면에 중부 대도시지역권과 서부 대도시지역권은 상대적으로 낮은 사회신뢰를 형성하고 있는 지역정체성이 특징적이라고 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
The concept of social trust, as a core element of social capital, is known to reduce transaction costs, help solve collective action problems, and contribute to economic, social, and political development. Therefore trust has been given a great deal of attention across an array of academic disciplines for its role in promoting cooperation among individuals and groups, and for its positive influence on the economic performance of corporations. This paper conducted an analysis on the present conditions of social capital in seven metropolitan area in China, especially focus on trust in people, trust in institutions and social trust. And this paper conducted a qualitative analysis on how the characteristics of trust in people and trust in institution have influenced on social trust in seven metropolitan area. According to the empirical results, North-East metropolitan area and the Yellow River metropolitan area is more likely to develop social capital than other metropolitan area. And the Central metropolitan area and the West metropolitan area's social capital level is lower than other metropolitan area's.
