A Qualitative Study on the Experience of Internship Training for the Students in the Convention/Event Department

The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences in internship training of the students in the convention/event department. After conducting in-depth interviews with the students who have experienced the internship training program, we analyze their statements with Colaizzi's method, a phenomenological study. The significance of this study is to understand whether there were any changes in the students' personal perception, social relationship, and/or perception of their major in the process of their internship training. The study will also suggest areas of improvement regarding the program which can be applied to students, internship company, and the department. As a result, two categories, 'experiencing personal perception change,' and 'experiencing social conflict, and six sub-categories, 'experiencing new environment,' 'changing personal perception,','having opportunity of motivation, ''disappointing on the field,' and 'understanding the field,' were found.
