The purpose of this study is to understand the volunteering experiences of the students in the tourism department. After conducting in-depth interviews with the students who have experienced the volunteering program, we analyzed their statements with Colaizzi's method, a phenomenological study. The significance of this study is to understand whether there were any changes in the students' personal perception, social relationship, and/or perception of their major in the process of their volunteering. The study will also suggest areas of improvement regarding the program which can be applied to students, organizers, and the department. As a result, two categories, 'experiencing personal perception change,' and 'experiencing social interaction, and four sub-categories, 'experiencing positive thinking,' 'experiencing negative thinking,' 'interacting with co-workers,' and 'disappointment about the organization,' were found.
