신자유주의 정부역할에 대한 한국인의 태도

본 논문은 전국표본설문조사 자료를 활용하여 신자유주의 정부역할에 대한 한국인들의 태도를 기술한다. 신자유주의 정부역할에 대한 태도는 정부의 경제개입, 복지책임, 재정지출, 공공사업 민영화, 공공시설 민간위탁관리 등 다섯 가지 차원에서 접근한다. 분석 결과 한국인들은 다양하고 광범한 활동과 영역에서 정부역할과 책임을 지지하고 정부지출의 축소보다 증대를 찬성하나,, 공공사업의 민영화나 공공시설의 민간위탁관리에 대해서는 반대하고 있다. 전체적으로 작은 정부, 간접 정부를 추구하는 신자유주의 정부개혁에도 불구하고 일반대중은 활동의 범위가 넓고 관여의 수준이 높은 정부를 여전히 선호하는 것으로 보인다.
