초록
Just as the storyteller mediates between oral traditions and his audience, so the translator acts as an agent between written traditions and his readers. They both play the same roles, but the main points of resemblance and difference between storytelling and translation work must be studied. The storyteller and the translator do not have access to the same props to convey a similar message. The storyteller has at his disposal not only the magic of words, but also extra-linguistic elements (voice, body movements, silences). The translator’s task is to compensate for these extra‐linguistic codes by finding a wording that triggers the same emotion in the reader as that felt by the audience. As a new storyteller, the translator has to resort to the use of “superwriting” and “hypercoding”.
