대만에 대한 중국의 군사력 사용 가능성에 대한 소고(小考) : 상륙(amphibious landing) 작전 역량을 중심으로

China's Possible Use of Military Force Against Taiwan: Focusing on the amphibious landing operational capabilities

초록

최근 중국은 신장된 군사력을 토대로 전투기와 폭격기를 이용해 대만 해협 중앙선 돌파, 대만 주변 선회 등의 강압, 봉쇄 등의 행태를 보이고 있다. 이 글에서는 2017년 이후 재편된 군 체제 하에서 일체화된 합동작전 역량을 강화하고 있는 중국의 대만에 대한 군사력 사용 가능성을 상륙 작전 역량 중심으로 검토한다. 이에 최근 다뤄진 선행 연구를 검토하고, 대만에 대한 군사력 사용에 있어 필수적인 상륙 작전의 역량을 분석한다. 결론적으로 이 글은 다음의 세 가지 이유로 중국의 상륙 작전 및 침공이 쉽지 않을 것임을 제시한다. 첫째, 상륙 작전을 수행하기에는 중국의 준비가 아직 부족하다. 하드웨어에 있어서는 신장되었지만, 그 하드웨어를 운용할 소프트웨어는 미진하다는 것이다. 즉 상륙 작전에 있어서 필요한 일체화된 합동작전 역량이 부족하다는 것이다. 둘째, 대만이 미국에 의존적이던 것에서 조금씩 벗어나면서, 자체적인 방어력을 갖추려고 노력하고 있고, 방어 훈련도 잘 되어 있으며, 역량도 꾸준히 신장되고 있다는 것이다. 셋째, 미국의 개입 가능성이 여전히 높다는 것이다

Abstract

This article examines the China's landing operational capabilities against Taiwan, which has been strengthening its integrated joint operational capabilities under the reorganized military system since 2017, focusing on landing operational capabilities. In conclusion, it is suggested that China's landing operation and invasion will not be easy for the following three reasons. First, insufficient software. Second, Taiwan’s defense capabilities. Third, possibility of US intervention. In this regard, I think it will be difficult for the Chinese government to choose easily even if it is mindful of the possibility of using military force.
