『纂註分類杜詩』 補註에 인용된 문학서와 그 의미 -『文章正宗』의 사례를 중심으로-

Abstract

The Zuanzhufenleidushi (纂註分類杜詩: Classified Annotations on Du Fu's Poetry) is a compilation of commentaries on the poetry of Du Fu (杜甫), compiled during the Joseon dynasty to promote the study of poetry (詩學). This work does more than merely collect various commentaries on Du Fu's poems; it also includes supplementary annotations (補註) that were added by Korean editors to enhance the existing commentaries. The production process and primary source materials (底本) of this compilation have been well-documented in previous research. However, this study focuses on the supplementary annotations that were independently added by the editors of Zuanzhufenleidushi. This study organized and examined the sources of literary works from the Song (宋) and Yuan (元) dynasties used in the supplementary annotations of Zuanzhufenleidushi. Through this process, increased interest developed in the supplementary annotations as crucial evidence for tracing the transmission of literary works from the mid-Goryeo period to the Joseon period, as well as for understanding the usage patterns of Shiwenxuanji (詩文選集: Poetic anthologies) that circulated in early Joseon. The effort to identify the sources of Zhao Cigong’s (趙次公) commentary (趙曰) cited in the supplementary annotations is also part of a broader endeavor to reassess the relationship between early Joseon literary texts and literary criticism. This study examines poetic anthologies published during the reign of King Sejong that include the works of Du Fu and confirms that the commentary by Zhao Cigong cited in the supplementary annotations was drawn from Zhen Dexiu's (眞德秀) Wenzhangzhengzong (文章正宗: The Orthodox Texts of Literary Works). Zhao Cigong's commentary tends to interpret Du Fu's works with a focus on loyalty and righteousness (忠義), and in Wenzhangzhengzong, this interpretation was made even more explicit by modifying the original text. In this regard, the decision by the compilers of Zuanzhufenleidushi to adopt the annotations from Wenzhangzhengzong in their supplementary notes can be seen as a deliberate choice to effectively emphasize their orientation towards the moral utility of literature. This approach could potentially be a more objective and persuasive strategy than simply presenting their own original voices. A comprehensive examination of the supplementary annotations will be necessary to further develop this discussion.
