예비교사의 교육실습에 대한 셀프내러티브 탐구

본 연구는 내러티브 탐구를 적용하여 예비교사가 교육실습기간 동안 겪게 되는 경험은 어떤 것이며, 이러한 경험은 어떤 의미를 가지는가를 알아보았다. 내러티브는 경험을 잘 나타낼 수 있는 도구로써 이를 수집ㆍ분석하기 위해 교육실습생인 연구자의 실습일지와 학생들의 학습일지를 활용했다. 이들 일지에 쓰여진 내러티브는 현장텍스트로서 교육실습생과 학생의 경험이 나타나게 되며, 이러한 내러티브의 의미를 분석한 것이 연구텍스트인데 이를 토대로 연구결과를 도출하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육실습에서 가장 중요한 부분은 수업실습인데, 연구자는 스스로 작성한 실습일지와 학생들이 작성한 학습일지, 그리고 지도교사와의 협의를 통해 수업 전-중-후에 대한 고민과 반성적 사고할 수 있었다. 둘째, 연구자는 내러티브 탐구를 통해 예비교사로서의 한계를 경험하기도 하였지만, 그것은 점점 자신의 교직관을 재정립하게 되는 기제로 작용하였다. 셋째, 연구자는 실무실습이 수업실습에 비해 상대적으로 덜 중요하게 다루어지는 경향을 경험하였다. 그러나 이것은 교육실습을 통해서만 얻어질 수 있는 현장경험이므로 보다 실질적이면서도 비중 있게 이루어질 필요가 있음을 느꼈다. 마지막으로 연구자는 교육실습 초기에는 이론과 실제가 분리되고 있는 듯한 느낌을 받았지만, 내러티브 탐구를 통해 이는 실제로 분절적인 것이 아니라 경험을 통해서 이론을 확인하고 재수정하는 과정임을 깨닫게 되었다. 이러한 측면에서 볼 때, 교육실습에 대한 내러티브 탐구는 교육실습생 자신의 경험을 이야기하고 또 이야기하는 과정 속에서 실천적 지식을 체득화하는 계기가 된다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study is to apply narrative inquiry to examine the experiences and its meanings that the student (geography) teacher goes through during student teaching. Narrative can be used to express individual experience excellently. So this study collected the student teacher’s teaching journal and students’ learning journals and analyzed their narrative as educational experiences. Narrative written in these journals is a field text showing the student teacher’s experience and students experiences. Research text is to analyze narrative written in the field text to examine meaning of the student teacher’s experience. The results obtained from research text can be summarized as follows: Firstly, a researcher as student teacher could do reflective thinking of teaching through narrative inquiry of the student teacher’s teaching journal, students learning journals and adviser’s comments. Secondly, though the researcher experienced limitations as the student teacher though narrative inquiry, it became gradually positive materials for him or her to be a good teacher. Thirdly, the researcher experienced that an administrative work was apt to be treated less importantly than the student teaching. But the researcher felt that this had to be treated more practically because this could be an experience only through the student teaching. Finally, though the researcher felt that the educational theory and practice was separated in the beginning of the student teaching, he or she thought gradually that it was to identify and to revise the theory through experience. Therefore, narrative inquiry of student teaching means that it is for the student teacher to obtain practical knowledge through the process of telling and retelling of his experience.
