수학과 교육과정 개정에서 수학교사의 역할: 가능성과 과제

본 연구는 2011 수학과 교육과정 개정 연구에 참여한 내부 연구자의 관점에서, 그 동안의 수학과 교육과정 개정 과정에서 보기 힘들었던 현상인 학습연구년제 수학교사의 참여 방식의 질적 변화에 주목하고 그 현상을 반성적으로 분석한 결과이다. 2011 수학과 교육과정 개정 연구에 참여한 14명의 초중고학습연구년제 교사를 대상으로 면담과 설문을 통해 교육과정 개정 작업에 참여하면서 겪게 된 경험과변화를 분석하였다. 그 결과 학습연구년제 교사는 교육과정과 수업의 연계성 강화 측면에서 교육과정개정에 부분적으로 기여하였다. 그러나 학습연구년제 교사에게 부여된 권한과 역할이 제한적이어서 교육과정 개정 과정의 주요 의사결정 과정에서 소외되는 측면이 있었고 이에 대한 보완책 마련이 필요하였다. 현재 2015 개정 교육과정 총론이 고시되었다. 앞으로 각 교과별 각론 개정 작업을 앞둔 시점에서본 연구는 수학과 교육과정의 개정에서 교사의 역할에 대한 시사점을 제안하였다.
Abstract
The Ministry of Education for Science and Technology (MEST) officially encourage mathematicsteachers who have previously taken a sabbatical year to participate in the 2011 revision of itsmathematics curriculum. From the perspective of the researchers participating in the revision, thisstudy analyzed the role of mathematics teachers in the revision process. The results of this studyshow that the mathematics teachers participating in the revision contributed to the strengthening ofthe connection of curriculum to teaching practices. Furthermore, the rights and power given to theteachers is limited and that the teachers' opinions were sometimes neglected.
