본고에서는 지역별 산출변화에 따른 고용효과를 추정하고, 이들의 지역 간 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자기지역과 타지역 산출변화에 대한 고용효과를 추정하고 이를지역별로 비교하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 자기지역과 타지역 산출증대에 대한 고용효과는 지역 간 차이가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 개별지역에서 자기지역 산출증가와 타지역 산출증가가 그 지역에서 나타내는 고용효과는 서로다른 것으로 추정되었고 지역별로도 서로 다르게 나타났다. 셋째, 대체로 광역시에서는 자기지역 산출의 고용효과가 타지역 산출의 고용효과보다 낮은 것으로 추정된 반면, 도 지역에서는 이와는 반대로 자기지역 산출의 고용효과가 타지역 산출의 고용효과보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 광역시 지역이 여러 지역과 보완적 산출-고용 관계를 가지는 반면,도 지역은 단순하거나 지역대체적인 산출-고용관계를 반영하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 넷째,서비스업비중과 고용효과의 상관관계로부터 서비스업 비중은 자기지역 산출의 고용효과와음(-)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper investigates the regional effect of output on employment across the15 regions in Korea, by estimating the effects of a home region’s output and theother regions’ output on the home employment. The findings are as follows: first,the effect of a home output on its employment differs the effect of the otherregions’ output. Secondly, while the effect of home output on employment issmaller than that of the other regions’ output in the 6 big cities, the home outputeffect on employment is greater than that of the others’ output in the 9 provinces. Thirdly, there is a negative relationship between the service sector share and thehome output effect on employment.
