An Analysis of Korean Criminal Justice System: Organizational Justice in the Relationships between Police and Prosecutor

This study has attempted to identify characteristics of Korean Criminal Justice System in terms of processing cases and to learn how those characteristics are related to the causes of conflicts between police and prosecutors. ‘Organizational justice’ was served as a conceptual framework for understanding police investigator’s attitudes towards prosecutor’s office. Using 263 survey respondents, this study finds that the procedural and distributive injustice perceived by police led to their negative views on prosecutor’s directions in the course of criminal investigation. Some explanations on the police investigators’ adverse sentiment are provided.
