국내 외국인 유학생 대상 학업적응 진단 도구 개발을 위한 구성요인 연구

2000년대 이후 한국 내 외국인 유학생의 증가는 세계적인 인재 유치와 한국 대학의 위상 제고라는 측면에서 긍정적인 발전을 이끌었다. 그러나 이러한 변화의 이면에는 유학생 관리 부실과 그로 인한 많은 사회적 문제도 발생하였다. 한국 대학은 행정적으로나 교육적으로 외국인 유학생에 대한 지원 정책을 개선해 왔다. 그러나 이러한 노력에도 불구하고 학업 포기와 중도 탈락률에 대한 문제는 여전히 해결되지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 유학생의 학업적응 진단 도구 개발을 위한 기초 연구로 학업적응의 개념 정립과 구성요인에 대한 설정을 시도하였다. 이를 위해 델파이 기법을 활용하여 각 분야의 전문가 의견을 수렴하고 정교화하였다. 1차 연구인 본 연구에서는 유학생의 학업적응 개념을 정립하고 이에 대한 구성요인을 설정하였다. 그리고 학업적응에 대한 진단 시기와 횟수에 대한 전문가 의견을 수합하여 진단 도구 개발의 거시적인 방향성을 수립하였다.
Abstract
Since the 2000s, the increase in the foreign students in Korea has led to positive development in terms of bringing in international talent and enhancing the status of Korean universities. Behind this change, however, was poor management of international students and many social problems. Korean universities have improved their support policies for foreign students, both administratively and educationally. Despite these efforts, however, the problem of academic abandonment and drop-out rates remains unsolved. Thus, this study attempted to establish the construction of academic adjustment and set the construction factors as a basic study for the development of diagnostic tools for academic adjustment among international students. To this end, Delphi techniques were utilized to gather and refine expert opinions in each field. In this study, which is the primary study, the construction of academic adjustment for international students was established and its components were set. In addition, the macroscopic direction of the development of diagnostic tools was established by gathering expert opinions on the timing and number of diagnostics on academic adjustment.
