지역사회 중심 직업교육에 대한 특수교사의 인식

본 연구의 목적은 효과적인 지역사회 중심 직업교육의 구성 요소들에 대해 특수학교와 특수학급에 근무하는 중고등학교 특수교사들의 중요도에 대한 인식은 어떠한지, 그러한 요소들을 실제 실행과정에서 어느 정도 포함하고 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이와 함께 특수교사들은 지역사회 중심 직업교육이 가지는 이점과 실행을 방해하는 요인을 무엇이라고 생각하는지도 알아보고자 한다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 부산, 경남, 광주, 전남 지역의 특수학교 및 특수학교에 근무하는 특수교사(100명)의 설문 조사 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 정리하면, 첫째, 현재 지역사회 중심 직업교육을 제공하고 있는 특수교사들이 인식하는 효과적인 지역사회 중심 직업교육의 구성 요소들에 대한 중요도와 실행도 간에는 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 중요도에 비해 실행도가 유의미하게 낮았다. 특수학급 교사들이 특수학교 교사보다 지역사회 중심 직업교육의 구성 요소의 중요도를 높이 평가하였으나, 실행도에서는 집단 간 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 특수교사들은 지역사회 중심 직업교육이 장애학생들의 다양한 능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 인식하고 있었으며, 특히 '작업 기술에 대한 관심 증대', '특정 작업 기술 습득', '졸업 후의 삶에 도움'에 도움이 되는 것으로 인식하였다. 마지막으로, 특수교사들은 학생의 안전 문제, 인력 및 재정의 부족, 학생의 문제 행동, 책임 문제, 준비 시간의 부족을 특히 큰 방해 요인으로 인식하고 있었다. 특수교사의 근무학교나 학교 급에 따라 지역사회 중심 직업교육의 이점과 실행 방해 요인에서 집단 간 차이가 없었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of special education teachers on components of community-based vocational instruction(CBVI), the benefits and barriers. Participants included special education teachers(n-=100) from randomly selected middle and high schools in Busan, Kyeongsangnam-do, Jeollanam-do. The questionnaire of this study consisted of three domains and 66 items regarding community based vocational instruction. The results of this study are as follows. There were significant differences between teachers' ratings of the importance and use of the components of CBVI. In addition, teachers in special classes rated higherly the importance on components of CBVI. Special education teachers perceived CBVI to result in numerous benefits for students with disabilities. We identified safety concerns, not enough staff, lack of funding, students' challenging behaviors, liability concerns, lack of preparation time, severity of students' disabilities, limited personal experience implementing CBVI as barriers to implementation.
