Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Problem Based Learning(PBL) on problem solving skills and class participation attitude of high school students in special class. We were to develop PBL models that implemented transition educational factors increase adaptation to community and integration to society. The participants of this study were 28 students who currently study at special class in regular high schools located in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The subjects were divided into two groups. 14 students were assigned to each comparative and experimental group. The results of this study are as follows: 1) the problem solving scores of experimental group showed statistically significant improvements from those of comparative group. 2) The results also indicated transition elements-applied-PBL teaching methods and processes improved class participation attitude as well. The study has it significance as an academic research because it proved that PBL combined with transition factors was an effective teaching method that brought positive improvements in problem solving skills as well as class participation attitudes.
