본 연구는 중국의 초등학교 통합 교육과정의 실행 과정에 나타난 문제점을 밝혀내고 나아가 개선할 과제를 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 목적 달성을 위해 중국의 교육과정 체제 및 통합교육과정의 변천 경과를 살펴보고, 중국의 통합 교육과정 구조와 현황에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 통합 교육과정 실행에 따른 문제와 과제를 논의하였다. 논의 결과 통합교육과정이 본격적으로 도입되기 전에 교사가 교과를 통합시킬 수 있는 전문적 능력을 개발하기 위한 제반 노력이 부족하였으므로, 교육현장에서 통합 제대로 실천되는데 제한이 발생하고 있다. 교육현장에서는 통합 교육과정의 실행에서 질적 부분 보다는 양적인 면에 치중하는 문제, 교수 방법 문제, 교사 개인 능력의 제한으로 인한 문제 등이 드러나고 있다. 또한, 통합교육과정을 개발할 때 다양한 자원을 활용해야 하지만 중국 서부 및 농촌과 같은 낙후 지역에 인적 자원 부족과 도서관, 미디어 등과 같은 교육환경의 시설 부족으로 통합교육과정의 질이 도시에 비해 낮다는 문제도 나타나고 있다. 이에 따른 초등학교 통합교육과정의 실행을 개선할 과제로 교사 훈련 및 낙후 지역에 인적 자원 및 재정 자원을 지원할 필요가 있다고 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is presents the development of the integrated curriculum(IC) in Chinese primary schools in future. IC is included in the basic course system during the eighth course reform in China. The schools also retain the autonomy in developing their own curriculum which suits their needs. Thereby, China has formed the system for the management of curriculums on national, local and school level. Under this system, teachers are allowed the freedom to selecting the content of courses, and carrying out their teaching activities. However, due to the difference between the teachers, teaching styles and their abilities to convey ideas, along with their abilities to cooperate with other teachers, problems such as the IC focuses more on quantity rather than quality, teaching method does not match the request of IC and so forth have surfaced. In addition, due to the shortage of teachers and inadequate infrastructure, there is a significant gap between city and the less developed regions such as western and rural provinces on the development of IC. so the quality of IC in these areas is low and are resented as a mere formality. With regard to this, this study proposes that if we intend to improve the quality of IC, we need to focus on the training of teachers on IC, and also increase in investment of the educational infrastructure in backward areas.
