본 연구의 목적은 ‘놀이’가 즐거운 생활과의 성격으로서 정당화될 수 있는지를 이론적으로 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 위해 놀이에 관한 듀이의 논의를 기반으로 놀이의 의미와 속성을 규정하고, 놀이가 어떤 점에서 교육의 목적과 합치되는지를 밝힘으로써 정당화하였다. 이를 토대로 즐거운 생활과 성격으로서의 놀이에 대하여 논의하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 놀이가 한 교과의 성격이 되기 위해서는 활동의 종류가 아닌 활동의 태도나 수준이라는 관점을 지향해야 한다. 놀이는 내재적 삶의 태도라는 점과 몰입의 경험을 그 속성으로 한다는 점에서 이상적인 삶의 태도라 할 수 있다. 놀이의 이러한 속성이 교육적 정당성을 갖는 이유는 교육 과정의 의미 회복과 교육 결과의 효율이라는 교육 내재적 측면에서 논의될 수 있다. 이러한 논의는 원천교과를 바라보는 관점에 대한 변화와 놀이 중심 ‘즐거운 생활’ 교과로의 재편성을 요구한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to consider theoretically whether 'play' can be justified as the characteristic with a ‘pleasant life’. To this end, based on Dewey's discussion of play, the meaning and attributes of play were defined and justified by revealing in what way play is commensurate with the purpose of education. The results of the study are as follows. In order for a play to be a character of a subject, one should aim at an attitude or level, not a kind of activity. Play is the ideal attitude of life in that it is the intrinsic attitude of life and the experience of immersion as an attribute. The reason why this attribute of play has educational legitimacy can be discussed in terms of the inherent aspects of education: the restoration of meaning in the educational process and the efficiency of the educational results. This discussion call for a change in the perspective of looking at the source of a pleasant life and a realignment into a play-oriented "Pleasant Life"
