본 연구는 초등학교 1-2학년 통합교과 교육과정의 ‘영역’(‘대주제’)의 의미와 유치원의 누리과정 및 초등학교 3-4학년 교과(군) 교육과정과의 연계를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 교육과정상에 나타난 영역이나 교과명을 가지고 이들 세 단계의 논리적 연계를 찾기는 쉽지 않은 것으로 파악된다. 그러나 유치원의 누리과정이 비록 교육과정상에서는 신체운동⦁건강, 의사소통, 사회관계, 예술경험, 자연탐구 영역의 명칭으로 제시되어 있지만, 교사용 지도서에 제시되어 있는 11개의 ‘생활 주제’를 중심으로 생각한다면, 그것들은 초등학교 1-2학년 통합교과의 8개 주제와 무리 없이 연계를 이루고 있는 것으로 파악된다. 그리고 통합교과의 8개 주제와 3-4학년 교과(군)는 주제나 교과명에 의하여 연계를 이루는 것이 아니라, 통합교과를 통해서 배우는 다양한 ‘사고 방식들’과 3-4학년 교과(군)에서 배우는 다양한 ‘사고 방식들’에 있어서 연계를 이루는 것으로 파악된다. 통합교과를 통해서 배우는 다양하고 독특한 사고 방식들은 3-4학년 교과(군)를 통해서 보다 심도 있는 다양한 사고 방식들을 배우는 데에 기초가 된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to inquire into the meaning of the 'domains'(big themes') of and its articulation or continuity of the Nuri curriculum of kindergarten and subjects cluster curriculum of elementary school 3-4 grades cluster. The Nuri curriculum is presented as 5 domains, that is, physical movement⦁health, communication, social relation, aesthetic experience, inquiry of nature. So it is not easy to recognize the continuity between the Nuri curriculum and integrated curriculum. But so far as 11 life themes for the Nuri curriculum presented in the guidebook for kindergarten's teachers are concerned, it is exactly connected to the 8 'domains'('big themes') of the integrated curriculum. And the 8 'domains'('big themes') of the integrated curriculum and the subjects cluster of 3-4 grades cluster are connected not in the name of subjects or themes between them, but in the ways of thinking taught by them.
