이 연구에서는 주제 및 단원 개발권을 학교 현장에 부여하며 교육과정 자율성을 확대한 2022 개정 통합교과 교육과정의 의도와 이를 실현해야 하는 교사가 가진 인식 사이의 간극을 좁히기 위한 하나의 시도로 연구자의 통합교과 교육과정에 대한 이해와 실행에 기반한 통합교과 단원 개발 이야기를 기술하였다. 이는 연구자가 학생의 요구를 중심에 두고 통합교과 단원을 개발한 사례로 그 과정을 단원 개발 범위 결정하기, 학생의 생각 모으기, 학생의 요구를 수업으로 변환하기, 수업을 무리 짓고 배열하며 단원의 얼개 만들기, 주어진 교육과정과 연결하여 단원 보완하기, 수업 실행하며 단원 수업 조정하기로 기술하였다. 이 이야기를 통해 첫째, 국가 교육과정에서 넘겨준 주제 및 단원 개발권을 이양받는 사람은 교사와 학생 모두이기에 교사는 학생이 이 권한을 발휘할 수 있도록 도울 필요가 있다는 점, 둘째, 통합교과 단원 개발에는 교사와 학생 모두에게 시간을 들인 경험이 필요하기에 일단 작은 시도라도 시작해 볼 필요가 있다는 점, 통합교과 단원 개발의 방식과 결과물은 고정된 것이 아니기에 다양한 시도를 통해 각 교사와 학생에게 가장 적절한 방식을 찾아갈 필요가 있다는 점을 논하였다.
Abstract
This study is an attempt to narrow the gap between the intention of the 2022 revised integrated curriculum which grants teachers the authority to develop the curriculum and the perception of the teacher who should realize it. In this study, the case of the development of an integrated curriculum unit based on the researcher's understanding and implementing of the integrated curriculum was described. This study case is an example of developing an integrated curriculum unit centered on students’ needs. In the study, the process of unit development is described as determining the scope of unit development, collecting students' ideas, converting students' needs into lessons, creating a framework for the units, linking achievement standards and lesson content to supplement units, executing and adjusting unit lessons. Through this story, the following three things were discussed. First, since the right to develop the curriculum granted by the national curriculum belongs to both teachers and students, teachers need to help students exercise this authority. Second, since the development of integrated curriculum units requires experience for both teachers and students, it is necessary to start even with a small attempt. Third, since the method and results of developing of integrated curriculum units are not fixed, it is necessary to find the most appropriate method for each teacher and student through various attempts.
