이 연구의 이론적 논의는 1) 저널리즘 비평의 자기관련적 특성에 따라 자성-비평- 옴부즈맨-객관적 저널리즘에서 선전-공격-PR-도구적 저널리즘으로 변화될 수 있는 비평의 이중성과 2) 기자 개인과 취재관행, 언론사간 관계, 정치성 등 다차원적 요인 에 영향을 받는 저널리즘 비평의 생산과정을 중심으로 전개했다. 공영방송의 저널리 즘 비평 프로그램과 신문의 비평 관련 기사를 실증분석한 결과 1) 매체간 저널리즘 비평은 기자 개인의 차원보다는 언론사 조직간의 문제, 또는 정치권력과 언론의 문제 차원에서 전개되고 있고, 2) 비평의 관행은 제작자가 주로 화자의 역할을 담당하는 주관적 저널리즘 형식, 인상 비평 위주, 부정적 논조로 이뤄져 있고, 3) 비평에서 공 영방송과 조선-동아-중앙 등 보수신문이 대응관계를 보이며, 4) 비평의 정치적 연결 망은 공영방송과 조선-동아가 대립적인 관계를 형성하는 가운데 공영방송과 정부-여 당 그룹, 그리고 조선-동아와 야당-보수단체 그룹이 긍정적인 연결망을 형성하고 있 는 것으로 나타났다. 결론에서는 저널리즘 비평 프로그램이 정당성과 공정성을 확보 하기 위한 저널리즘 가치 회복의 중요성을 논의했다.
Abstract
The theoretical part in this study focus on that 1) journalism criticism, based on self-referece and self-interest, has double edges, which lead the criticism to either enlightenment-criticism-Ombusman-objective criticism or propaganda-attack-PRinstrument journalism, 2) journalism criticism is influenced in its production process by multi-level factors, such as individual journalists, media organization, inter-media relationship and politics. Content Analysis of media criticism programs run by two public broadcasting entities and three newspapers’articles of the TV programs showed that 1) inter-media journalism criticism is performed in the level of media organization and inter-media relationship and political power, rather than in individual journalist level; 2) the journalism criticism has routines of more subjective, more impressional and more negative criticism; 3) public broadcasting and so-called conservative newspapers have an adversary relationship in their criticism; 4) public broadcasting hold a positive political network with government and majority political party and the newspapers with oppositional parties and conservative activist groups. In conclusion, the importance of recuperation of journalism value and principle is discussed to gain legitimacy of journalism criticism
