Abstract
This study aims to explore the experiences of slow learners participating in the STBT (Slow Think Body Talk) dance program in depth and to understand the individual characteristics and contextual meanings that emerge during the program. The participants were six slow learners enrolled at Y Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province, and the program was implemented over 10 sessions. The study employed a qualitative case study method, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observation logs, and activity journals. The results of the study revealed the following: First, physical changes included the learners regaining confidence in basic movements, developing a positive perception of their bodies, and exhibiting increased vitality in daily life. Second, behavioral changes involved emotional stability, the development of self-regulation skills, and the formation of positive attitudes through collaboration and interaction. Third, emotional changes encompassed heightened feelings of achievement, improved ability to express emotions, and fostering positive imagination about the future. Lastly, cognitive and learning changes included improvements in self-directed learning attitudes and concentration, as well as enhanced problem-solving skills through collaboration. This study demonstrates the potential of the STBT dance program to support the holistic growth of slow learners and suggests its applicability as a tailored program in the field of arts and cultural education.
