중국의 경우는 다차원적 측면에서 한반도 통일에 대한 이해관계가 긴밀하다고 볼 수 있다. 한반도의 통일에 대한 중국의 인식은 국가이익이라는 관점에서 관측된다. 중국의 핵심이익과 상당정도 관련이 있는 한반도에서의 정치적 변동은 중국의 중요 관심사가 될 수밖에 없다. 중국이 한반도 통일 과정에서 중시하는 가장 큰 변수는 미중 관계와 한반도 통일 과정의 방식이라고 판단된다. 통일의 주체, 통일의 방식, 통일의 환경, 통일의 효과 등에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 중국은 통일 한국이라는 호의적인 이웃이 새로이 정주하기를 기대하면서 한반도 통일에 대한 전략적 관여를 지속할 것이다. 첫째, 통일 과정에서 북중 경계 지역에 동요가 발생하는 일이 없을 것. 둘째, 통일 과정에서 혹여 외국 군대가 파견되는 상황이더라도 정세가 안정된 이후에는 미군 잔류를 최소화하거나 완전 철수시킬 것. 셋째, 한반도 통일 과정에서 통일 한국을 중립화시키기 위한 정치적 요구. 넷째, 한반도의 비핵화로서 엄정한 국제적 관리 하에 북한에 존재하는 핵 시설 및 무기의 사찰 및 처리. 다섯째, 통일 한국에 MD 및 전략적 무기, 미사일 배비 금지. 여섯째, 통일 한국이 북·중간의 국경 조약을 인정하고 승계한다는 확약의 문제 등이다.
Abstract
China can be seen to have a closer interests in Korean unification in multidimensional aspect. The Chinese perception of Korean unification is observed in terms of national interest. The political fluctuations in the Korean peninsula which are considerably associated with China's core interest can only be a matter of concern in China. China is seen to have a idea that the biggest variables in the Korean unification process are US-China relations and the way of unification. China will have kept observation upon the subject of unification, methods of unification, the environment of unification, and the effects of unification. Based on this recognition, with looking forward to seeing a amicable neighbor, China will continue its strategic involvement in the Korean unification. First, there should be no unrest in North Korea-China border area in the unification process. Second, there may be a situation in which foreign troops are dispatched in the unification process. After the situation is stabilized, the US forces should be minimized or completely withdrawn. Third, the political demand for neutralization of the unified Korea in the Korean unification process. Fourth, asserting nuclear facilities and weapons in North Korea under strict international management and inspection for aiming the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Fifth, insisting that the deployment of MD, strategic weapons be prohibited in the unified Korea. Sixth, insisting that the unified Korea concede and succeed the North Korea-China border treaty.
