After the North Korean nuclear test in 2006, American strategies to it seems to have shifted toward a more concessionary way in a way to give up the principles firmly held for a long time. The Six Party talks became an organ to concede to North Korea as China, Russia, and Korea often sided with North Korea against the wishes of U.S. Likewise, the action plan of 2.13 and the following agreements for North Korea to fulfill her disablement process of nuclear facilities may provide a basis of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, only if she indeed adheres to the agreed actions. Yet, there seems to be too many obstacles hidden in the way, and almost impossible to have a permanent resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue in a short period of time, due to her political needs to sustain the survival of the system. The findings were seen through the examination of the Six Party talks and thus the purpose of the article to provide the prospects of the resolution of North Korean nuclear weapon programs itself seem to be self-defeating.
