“하나님은 그때, 그 고통의 순간에 어디에 계셨습니까?” 신학은 세상의 이 당돌한 질문 앞에 답하려 고민하고 있다. 에피쿠로스의 주장처럼 역설(paradox)을 가르쳐야 할 때 우리는 난처함을 경험한다. 신정론. 이것은 과연 진리의 역설적 모습인가? 아니면 원초적 모순인가? 진리의 세대적 전수를 목적으로 하는 기독교교육은 상황이 가져다주는 신정론적 질문에 어떻게 성경적 진리에 근거하여 답할 수 있을까? 슐라이에르마허(F. D. E. Schleiermacher)가 말한 것처럼 신학의 꽃과 열매에 해당하는 실천신학인 기독교교육은 나무의 줄기인 교회사와 조직신학가운데 연계적 해법을 찾아야 할 것이다. 이성을 무시한 위계적 상위의 초현실적이고 초상황적인 형이상학이 아닌, 삶의 정황 속에서의 응용되어야 실천신학인 기독교교육은 이러한 상황으로부터 기인한 생생한 고난의 질문 앞에 서 있다. 이 연구논문은 이러한 신정론의 질문에 대하여 기독교 교육적 해석을 통해 답하며, 더 나아가 현장에서의 기독교 교육적 적용을 시도하려 한다. 본 연구의 구성은 다음과 같다. II장에서는 신정론에 대한 개념적 정의와 신정론의 해석에 따른 분류들을 살펴보고 III장에서는 교회의 역사 속에서 신정론의 해석에 대한 흐름들을 통한 변화적 가능성과 유동성을 알아볼 것이다. IV장에서는 기독교교육의 관점에서 받아들일 수 있는 신정론에 대한 해석을, 그리고 마지막 V장에서는 신정론의 기독교 교육적 현장적 적용점을 살펴보며 신정론과 기독교 교육적 적용을 정리해 보려고 한다.
Abstract
"Oh Dear God, where are you when we face suffering?" Christians and theologians have a responsibility to answer this tough question against the secular world. When we should teach paradox, we also face paradoxical difficulties frequently according to "theodicy". Is it the paradox of truth itself or originally containing fundamental contradiction? Christian education has the purpose to deliver truth from generation to generation. In accordance with this purpose, how does Christian education answer the questions based on theodicy? Christian education as a practical theology may find the answers in the connection with other fields like systematic theology and church history. How can Christian education respond to this question, which should regard contexts of humans’ lives and must not ignore the answer for this question as a non-hierarchical and practical field? This study is a trail of these answers for this question; furthermore, this study tries to interpret and apply its answers into the field of Christian education in terms of theodicy. The structure of the study is as follows. In chapter II, I will examine the definition of theodicy and categories of interpretations for theodicy. In chapter III, I will explore the streams of interpretations for theodicy in Church history and consider the potential and fluidity for change as a new conceptual theodicy. In chapter IV, I will strive to find a suitable interpretation for theodicy in Christian education. Last, completing this study, in chapter V, I will suggest several points of applicationfortheodicyinChristianeducationalfields.
