자살유가족의 애도 과정에 관한 단일사례연구 : 기독교 상담적 접근

본 연구는 기독교인 자살유가족이 애도 과정에서 경험하는 핵심문제들이 무엇인지 심층적으로 탐구하고 애도 과정에서의 핵심문제를 기독교 상담적 관점으로 접근하는 것이다. 본 연구는 기독교인 자살유가족 하나의 사례만을 중심으로 연구하였다. 단일사례 연구는 사례가 매우 독특하고 희귀한 동시에 극단적이며 많은 것을 함축하고 있을 때 연구될 수 있으며, 연구를 통하여 내담자의 경험을 깊이 이해하고 통찰력을 얻을 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 Stake의 본질적 단일사례연구 방법으로 접근하고 Stake의 분석 틀을 적용하여 분석한 결과 3개의 범주와 10개의 중심주제를 도출하였다. 연구결과에서 기독교인 자살자 유가족의 애도 과정 경험은 첫 번째 ‘붕괴된 가족’, 두 번째 ‘자기 비난’, 세 번째 ‘지옥의 절망에서 돌보심의 믿음으로 나아감’의 큰 범주로 집약된다. 기독교인 자살유가족은 애도 과정에서 일반 사별자와는 다른 복합성 애도를 경험하고 있으며, 가장 큰 고통의 문제는 하나님께서 왜 가족의 자살을 허락하신 것인가 하는 하나님에 대한 원망과 사랑하는 가족의 자살을 막지 못하여 지옥에 갔을 것이라는 영적 죄의식이다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 내담자의 영적인 죄의식과 고통의 문제를 기독교 상담적 관점으로 접근하였다. 연구 결론을 통해 기독교인 자살유가족을 돕기 위한 실천적 제언으로는, 첫째 기독교적인 가치관과 복음, 윤리에 입각한 기독교 관점의 생명존중 교육지침의 마련, 둘째 기독교인 자살유가족의 회복을 도울 수 있는 애도 과정 경험에 관한 기독교 상담관점의 폭넓은 후속 사례연구, 마지막으로 기독교 차원의 자살유가족 자조 모임 활성화의 필요성이다.
Abstract
The study explores an in-depth issue experienced by a single Christian suicide family during mourning process and approaches to the fundamental issues from a Christian counseling perspective. The single case research is meaningful because of its rare uniqueness and can deliver valuable learnings. Through this single case study, it helps to understand and gain insights about the client. The study follows Stake's intrinsic single case study method and applies his analysis framework to derive three categories and ten central themes. The mourning process experiences of Christian suicide survivors are grouped into three large categories; the first, the collapsed family, the second, the self-crime, and the third, the move from the despair of hell to the faith of care. Christian suicide families are experiencing more complicated grief in compare to non-Christian families. The biggest problem of suffering is the resentment of God about why He allows Christian family experiencing suicide and spiritual guilt that possibility of suicided one is going to hell because the family members could not prevent. In conclusion, the client's spiritual guilt and pain are approached with a Christian counseling perspective. The practical suggestions for helping Christian suicide families are: First, to prepare educational guidelines for respecting Christian life based on Christian values, gospel, and ethics; Second, a comprehensive case study of Christian counseling to help the mourning process for the recovery of Christian suicide families; Last, the need for active revitalization of the suicide family self-help groups at the Christian level.
