본 연구의 목적은 인간성 상실과 회복에 대해 정신분석적 관점에서 조망하는 데 있으며, 이를 통해 한국 사회의 인간성 상실의 원인과 그 회복의 길을 분석하고 묘사하는 데 있다. 프로이트가 처음 정신분석을 도입한 이래로, 정신분석은 계속적인 발전을 거듭해 왔다. 하지만, 그 발전에도 불구하고 정신분석이 초기부터 계속해서 유지하고 있는 전제와 가정들이 존재한다. 인간의 심리내적 세계에서 무의식의 영역이 존재한다는 것을 가정한다는 것이 그 가운데 하나이다. 무의식의 영역을 전제하고 그것을 의식화시키고 통합하는 것이 정신분석 치료의 핵심이라는 것은 어는 정신분석학파에나 적용이 된다. 의식하기 어려운 무의식의 영역이 존재한다는 것은 정신분석이 구획화된 인간 마음에 대해 묘사하고 있음을 보여준다. 곧 인간의 마음에는 소외되고 분리되어 존재할 수 있는 영역이 위치할 수 있으며, 이 영역이 심리적 증상과 정신병리와 깊은 관련이 있다고 정신분석은 설명하고 있다. 이렇듯 무의식 개념은 인간 마음에 분열이 존재한다는 것을 의미하며, 이 분열로 인해 인간에게 심리적 어려움이 발생한다는 것을 보여준다. 한편, 이런 분열이 통합되어 인간의 마음에 전체성을 다시금 회복할 수 있는 것이 정신건강에서 중요한 측면을 이루게 된다. 본 연구는 이런 정신분석의 관점에서 인간성의 상실을 분열과, 인간성의 회복을 통합과 관련시켜 이해하며 이를 한국사회의 인간성 상실과 회복을 분석하기 위한 개념으로 사용하게 된다. 그 동안 한국사회는 지나치게 경제성장을 강조하고, 이에 따라 효율적으로 사고하는 경향이 지배적이었다. 생산적이고 이성적인 활동에 집중하는 사회분위기에서 인간적인 속성들의 억압, 격리, 분열, 소외 현상이 일어날 수밖에 없으며, 이것이 인간성의 상실을 가져왔다고 본 연구는 분석했다. 또한 인간성 회복을 위해 한국사회에 필요한 제안들을 본 연구의 정신분석적 관점에서 제공하고 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate loss and recovery of humanity in terms of psychoanalytic perspective and to describe why the Korean society loses its human qualities and how it recovers the qualities. Psychoanalysis has continually developed since its introduction by Freud. However, in spite of its development, there have been the similar preconditions and assumptions in the history of psychoanalysis. It assumes the existence of the Unconscious in our own inner world. Its therapeutic key method is to make the Unconscious conscious and integrate it into the our minds. The Unconscious means an area of our inner worlds which people are not able to recognize. It can be conscious with the help of someone who knows its pattern and grammar. In this way, psychoanalysis presupposes a split part from our inner worlds and it understands psychopathologies which are closely associated with the split part. The loss of humanity designates the splitting and separation which occur in our inner worlds and arouse difficulties in our minds. The recovery of humanity, in the other hand, is related to the incorporation of the split part into our minds. This study finally talks about the reason why the Korean society loses its human qualities and the way in which the Korean society recovers them. For this work, this study uses psychoanalytic theories and concepts. Korean society has put its emphasis on the economic growth and efficient thinking, Productive and rational activities have predominated in the Korean society. As the result, emotional and humane aspects of human beings have been sacrificed to achieve the highest work performance. This imbalance in our society has brought the splitting of our hearts and the loss of humanity. The study provides how to get over the loss and to repair the splitting in the perspective of psychoanalysis.
