21세기 한국 교회 갱신을 위한 초기 중세(5세기-10세기) 켈트식 기독교와 문화에 대한 전도학적 연구

이 논문의 목적은 교회사에서 켈트 기독교의 전도라는 보물을 세상에서 드러내어 21세기 한국 교회가 로마식 전도와 교회의 DNA를 지향하지 않고 어떻게 달라질 수 있을지에 대한 단서를 제공하고자 함이다. 이를 위해, 첫째, 신성로마제국의 전도 이해와 실천에서는 로마제국의 기독교 국교(religio)화 이후의 로마 교회의 전도 전략을 분석했다. 이 과정에서 어떤 부작용이 있었는지를 다루었다. 둘째, 성 패트릭의 전도와 문화적 이해에서는 동시대에 패트릭을 통해 어떻게 성서적 전도의 패러다임의 회복과 문화적 동화와 해석 및 적용을 연구했다. 셋째, 성 패트릭의 전도와 증식성장의 이해에서는 켈트 수도원 운동의 전도학적 가치와 21세기 한국 교회를 향한 교훈으로 각각 연구하였다. 그 결과로 첫째, 켈트 기독교는 패트릭의 공로로 켈트족의 문화를 먼저 이해하고 로마식 교회를 답습하지 않는 켈트족만의 자생적 기독교를 세운 점을 밝혔다. 둘째, 강요에 의한 로마식 전도가 아니라 켈트식 기독교는 성서적 회심을 추구하였다는 것을 밝혔다. 셋째, 로마식 문화를 강요하는 로마니타스(Romanitas)보다 성육화된 접근을 켈트 기독교가 시행했음을 밝혔다. 한국교회가 적용할 점에 대해서는 첫째, 성직주의 계급보다 수평을 강조한 교회를 이룰 필요성을 강조했다. 이는 만인제사장론에 근거하여 평신도 중심의 교회를 추구할 필요가 있음을 함축하고 있다. 둘째, 로마식 동질적 교회보다는 켈트식 교회는 다질적 공동체를 추구했다는 점을 한국 교회가 적용해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 일방적 의사소통이 아니라 전도를 위해서 수신자 지향적인 소통방식을 추구하여 다질적 공동체를 구성하는 필수 요건을 다뤘다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to provide the clue about how the twenty first century Korean Church can be changed by debunking the evangelism of the Celt Christianity in the history of Church. For this, first, the praxis of evangelism of the Holy Roman Empire: After Christianization of the Roman Empire, the tactics and strategies of the Roman Church have been analyzed. Second, the biblical paradigm of evangelism, and cultural assimilation and application were studied. Third, the value of evangelization studies about the Celtic monastery movement and the lessons for the Korean Church in the twenty first century. As a result, the Celtic Christianity did not follow the example of the Roman Church, but understood the Celtic culture instead first and established the indigenous Church. Second, instead of the Roman coercive evangelism, the Celtic Christianity pursued the biblical conversion. Third, the Celtic Christianity showed the incarnational approach for evangelism instead of Romanitas. For implications for the Korean Church, first, the Korean church need to mend the vertical systems to the horizontal. Second, the Korean Church should pursue the heterogenous community, not homogeneous community. Third, the Korean Church needs to communicate the unchurched with the way of the receiver‐oriented communication for evangelism
