어머니의 학습관여가 유아의 학습행동을 통해 학교준비도에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구는 어머니의 학습관여가 유아의 학습행동과 학교준비도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 C도 소재의 유아교육기관에 소속된 만 5세 유아의 어머니 250명으로 하였고, 자료 수집은 질문지 방식으로 유의표집하였다. 본 연구에서 수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0을 이용하여분석하였고, 이론적 경로모형은 AMOS 7.0 프로그램을 이용하여 검증되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 유아의 성별에 따라 어머니의 학습지지와 학습압박, 유아의 학습의욕행동에는 차이가 없었으나 유아의 주의지속행동과 학교준비도는 여아가 남아보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 학습지지가 높을수록 남아와 여아 모두 학습의욕행동과 주의지속행동이 높아지는 것으로 나타났고,어머니의 학습압박이 높아질수록 남아와 여아 모두의 학습의욕행동이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 어머니의 학습압박은 남아의 주의지속행동을 낮추는 것으로 나타난 반면 여아에게는 유의한 영향을미치지 않았다. 셋째, 유아의 학습의욕행동은 학교준비도에 영향을 미치지만 유아의 주의지속행동은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타나 남아와 여아 모두 학습의욕행동이 높을수록 유아의 학교준비도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 어머니의 학습지지와 학습압박은 남아와 여아 모두의 학습의욕행동을 통해학교준비도에 간접적인 영향을 미쳐 유아의 학습의욕행동은 어머니의 학습관여와 유아의 학교준비도에매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine effects of mother’s academic involvement on learningbehavior and school readiness of preschool children. Subjects of this study were 250 mothers ofyoung children aged 5 years old attending 6 kindergartens and 4 child care centers located inChungbuk province. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. The testing of model was donewith analysis of correlational matrix in AMOS 7.0 package. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were no significant differences in mothers’learning-related behaviors and children’s motivation of learning behavior by gender while attentionpersistence of learning behavior and school readiness was higher in girls than boys. Second,mothers’ learning-related support had a direct effect on motivation and attention persistence oflearning behavior for both boys and girls. Additionally, mothers’ learning-related pressure had adirect effect on motivation of learning behavior for both boys and girls whereas it did only onboys’ attention persistence of learning behavior. Third, children’s school readiness was affected bymotivation of learning behavior only. Fourth, mothers’ learning-related support and pressure had anindirect effect on children’s school readiness mediated by motivation of learning behavior.
