박지원의 연행 한시 연구

본 논문은 박지원의 연행시(燕行詩)를 연구한 것이다. 연행시는 열하일기(熱河日記) 에 가려져 상대적으로 연구가 부진했던 분야이다. 논문은 기왕에 연행시로 알려진 작품은 물론, 문집에 수록되지 못한 작품까지 발굴하여 이를 상세히 분석하였다. 박지원의 연행시는 한시 형식을 온전히 갖추고 있는 것이 13수이고, 散句로 남아 있는 것이 2수 이었다. 분석을 통해 박지원의 연행시는 개인의 정감을 풀어내는 운문이었으며, 내용상 일반적인 연행시의 주제와 특별히 다른 것이 없음을 밝혔다. 특히 열하일기가 구현한 주제에 비해서 연행시의 주제는 특기할 만한 것이 없었다. 13수와 2개의 산구로 남은 연행시는 연행 초기 거의 매일 왕성하게 연행시를 창작했던 것에 비추어보면 너무 적은 숫자이다. 연행이 진행될수록 작품이 창작되지 않은 까닭을 연행의 자세와 각오의 변화, 청의 현실을 보는 연암 인식의 전환에 그 이유가 있었던 것으로 파악하였다. 또한 연행에서 얻은 현실 인식 등의 거대담론은 한시의 형식이 아닌 산문 열하일기로 담을 수밖에 없었기 때문에 박지원은 연행시를 크게 취급하지 않았음을 밝혔다.
Abstract
This study is to examine the poetry of envoy to Chung Dynasty written by Ji-won Park. Studies on the envoy poetry has been depressed in the shadow of Yolha-ilgi and could not have received the recognition it deserves. The researcher discovered and analyzed works that are not included in his anthology as well as works known as envoy poems. The envoy poetry by Ji-won Park consists of thirteen poems that are in accordance with formalities of Chines poem, and two separated phrases. The study revealed with analysis that his envoy poems are verse to express personal warmth and similar to the theme of general envoy poems. The theme of the envoy poetry is not something special compared to that of Yolha-ilgi. Considering that Ji-won Park composed poems actively at an early stage in his envoy, thirteen poems and two separated phrases are too poor in a quantitative respect. The study grasped that reasons that he could not write poems as the envoy progressed are the change of his attitude and determination, and the cognitional change about Chung’s reality. It also illuminated that Ji-won Park did not set a high value on envoy poetry because he just expressed microscopic discourse such as his perception of Chung’s reality in prosy Yolha-ilgi as it might not be appropriate to express in verse.
