『東詩叢話』(규장각본)의 저자 및 저본 고찰

현재『東詩叢話』는 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원에 소장된 본과 일본의 東洋文庫에 소장된 본이 존재한다. 모두 필사본인데 서명만 같을 뿐 내용이 판이하여 별개의 본으로 간주된다. 본고에서 주목한 본은 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원에 소장된 『동시총화』(이하 규장각본)이다. 최근에 조선말기와 일제강점기에 활동한 鄭萬朝(1858～1936)의 비평서인 『榕燈詩話』가 『每日申報』에서 발굴되었다. 이를 계기로 『매일신보』에 연재된 또 다른 詩話를 유의 깊게 살펴본 결과, 1915년 3월 19일부터 1918년 8월 20일까지 3년 남짓 1면에 연재된 安宅重(1858～1929)의 『東詩叢話』(이하 『매일신보』 연재본)가 규장각본과 내용이 일치함을 확인했다. 따라서 『한국시화총편』 해제가 나온 이후 未詳으로 처리된 규장각본의 작자를 ‘安宅重’으로 바로잡아야 한다. 규장각본은 『매일신보』 연재본을 저본으로 한 축약본이다. 두 본을 비교 검토했을 때, ① 1915년 3월 19일부터 같은 해 5월 5일까지 게재된 『동시총화』 본편과 규장각본 본집 1권, ② 1916년 1월 7일부터 이듬해 8월 10일까지 게재된 『동시총화』속편과 규장각본 속집이 편차와 내용 면에서 크게 차이 났다. 예컨대, 『매일신보』 연재본에는 규장각본 본집 1권에 없는 序文 및 崔致遠․朴仁範․朴寅亮 등의 고려 문인에 관한 비평이 존재한다. 또 규장각본 속집에 李尙迪과 王士禎(초명 王士禛)에 관한 항목만 있는 것과 달리, 『매일신보』 연재본에는 李晩用과 같은 근대 문인이나 『姑婦奇譚』과 같은 근대 간행물을 주목한 항목이 다수 보인다. 일제강점기에 기관지 지면을 통해 적극적으로 비평했던 문인들의 연구는 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 본고 역시 『동시총화』(규장각본)의 저자를 밝히고 이본간의 편차 및 내용의 차이를 추적하는 데 중점을 두어 안택중의 비평에 관해서는 충분히 논의하지 못했다. 『동시총화』에 빈번히 등장하는 핵심어를 중심으로 비평의 실체를 분석하는 작업은, 『동시총화』를 뒤이어 『매일신보』에 장기 연재된 梅下山人 崔永年의 『詩家叢話』와의 비교를 통해 진행할 예정이다.
Abstract
Currently, DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話) has two editions. One is a collection of the books in KyuJangGak Institute for Korean Studies(奎章閣 韓國學硏究院) of Seoul National University. The other is a collection of the books in Japan’s Toyo Bunko(東洋文庫). Both editions are hand- written manuscripts, but they are regarded as different versions because although the names of the books are identical, the contents are very different. The focus of the current research is the collection of KyuJangGak(奎章閣). Recently, YongDeng-ShiHua(榕燈詩話) by Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報), a critique of Jeong Man-jo(鄭萬朝) who was active during the late Joseon period and the Japanese colonial period was unearthed. Based on this new finding, I examined another ShiHua(詩話) series published by Maeil- Shinbo(每日申報), and found out the following. Between March 19, 1915 and August 20, 1918, DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話) by Ahn Taek-Jung(安宅重, 1858～1929, pen name is Gueng-rae(肯來)) which was published on the first page for more than 3 years was identical with the content in the collection of KyuJangGak(奎章閣). In fact, DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話) at KyuJangGak(奎章閣) is a brief version of DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話) published by Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報). By comparing and reviewing the two editions, I also found out that the two parts were very different in terms of their contents as well as the order of the contents. In particular, ① ‘the main compilation(本編) published by Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報) between March 19, 1915 and May 5, 1915’ and ‘the main compilation(本集), Volume 1, in the collection of KyuJangGak(奎章閣)’ and ② ‘the sequel(續編) published by Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報) between January 7, 1916 and August 10, 1917’ and the ‘sequel(續集) in the collection of KyuJangGak(奎章閣)’ are quite different in terms of their contents and the order of the contents. For example, the criticisms about the writers of KoRyo(高麗) such as Choi Chi-won(崔致遠), Park In-beom(朴仁範), and Park In-ryang(樸寅亮) are found only in Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報). Also, a number of items that reviewed modern Korean writers such as Lee Man-yong(李晩用) and modern publications such as KoBuGiDam(姑婦奇譚) are found only in Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報). There are not many studies on writers who actively criticized through newspapers during the Japanese colonial period. This paper focuses on the investigation about the authors of DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話) at KyuJangGak(奎章閣) and the differences between the two versions. Thus, the paper relatively lacks detailed discussion about Ahn Taek-Jung(安宅重)’s criticism. The work of analyzing the criticism itself, focusing on the frequently appearing key words in DongShi-CongHua(東詩叢話), will be conducted through comparing with Choi Yeong-neon(崔永年)'s ShiGa- CongHua(詩家叢話), which also had been published in Maeil-Shinbo(每日申報) for a long period of time.
