Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to account for the movement operation in English Quotative Inversion Construction, which differs in opinion from the previous analyses. Applying my reconstructed vP-structure to this construction and offering alternative methods, I make sure that the following analyses produce more economic and explanatory results in English Quotative Inversion Construction: first, the inversion operation is optionally triggered by [foc] feature in Foc; second, the subject must move overtly to the TP-Spec position and agree with the phi-features of T; finally, with the presence of [foc] feature in Foc, the verb must realize v-to-T-to-Foc movement, then the derivation converges. My researched paper will give possibility to use the suggested methods for extended analysis of other inversion constructions
