초록

The purpose of the current study is to investigate tone patterns of blended words in South Kyungsang(SK) Korean. Korean is booming up with blended words recently. And more interestingly in SK Korean, which is a pitch accent language, these blended words have tone patterns. Thus, the current research examines how the tones interact when the blended words are made from the source words. The present paper studies the tone pattern data of the blended words that have various source words. These source words are native Korean, Sino-Korean, and English words. The results of the current study show that the constraints on the SK tone system posited by Lee(2009) such as *#LL, and the avoidance on long monotonic H tone words and on two pitch falls in a prosodic domain are active in the blended words as well
