초록

The purpose of this research is to study the contrastive characteristics of postpositions ul/lul, un/nun, and null maker ‘Ø’ in the place of object NPs. These three postpositions are different in the part of sentence that contains recognizable sisters. A speaker recognizes not only a part of sentence, but also its recognizable sisters outside the range of what is expressed in a sentence. Ul/lul has recognizable sisters of object and chooses an expressed object among them. Un/nun used in the place of object contains recognizable sisters of predicate. Omitting these particles, the sentence does not possess recognizable sisters of either object or predicate. Such basic characteristics is closely related to the function discussed in the original research on these three postpositions. The fact that ul/lul contains recognizable sisters of object is associated with that this postposition acts as objective case marking. The fact that un/nun possesses recognizable sisters of predicate is related to that this postposition, depending on the flow of a sentence, represents the contrastive meaning. And, the fact that null maker ‘Ø’ does not have any recognizable sister is tied to that any attention or focus is not given to the object.
