초록

The purpose of this paper is to find effective methods for teaching and learning the connective endings “-aseo” and “-nikka”, as foreign learners, in particular, have difficulty understanding the utilization of these terms. The goal is to present and use presuppositions and intuition of the terms’ meaning; this intuitive information has been overlooked in the existing teaching and learning methods. During a conversation, when the speaker presumes that the listener does not know the information in the preceding clause of the sentence, “-aseo” is used. Conversely, when the listener does know the information in the preceding clause of the sentence, “-nikka” is used. The presupposition of “-aseo” and “-nikka” is the intuitive information discourse of native speakers. This is based on information sharing in pragmatic presuppositions. When presenting the presuppositions of “-aseo” and “-nikka” together with the basic meaning, the expectation was that foreign learners would utilize the ease of using the two forms of discrimination as well as intuition like native speakers do.
