<인형의 집> 이후의 ‘인형의 집’ 다시 읽기 -2000년대 이후 주요 작품을 중심으로 한 쟁점 탐색과 비판적 사유

본 연구는 ‘집 나간 노라’로 당대 유럽 시민사회에 충격을 준 문제적 작품 입센의 <인형의 집>이 동시대에 어떤 방식으로 회귀하여 공연되고 있는지를 살피고 있다. 장기간 세계 순회공연을 이으며 ‘글로벌’ 퍼포먼스임을 입증했던, 오스터마이어의 <인형의 집-노라>와 리 브루어의 <인형의 집>, 그리고 ‘미투’ 운동이 일고 있던 시기 퓰리처상을 수상한 루카스 네이스의 <인형의 집 PART2>(김민정 연출)를 대상으로 한다. 이들 작품은 모두 LG아트센터에서 공연되어 국내에서도 많은 관심을 촉발했다는 공통점이 있다. 이에 본고는 이들 작품 저마다의 개별적 특성을 살피는 가운데 기존 분석을 재고하고, 재해석한 새로운 지점을 제시한다. 또한 소외되거나 본격화되지 못한 논쟁들을 탐색하고 쟁점화하며 그 결과 작품이 드러내는 정치성에 대해 사유한다.
Abstract
This study examines how Ibsen's A Doll's House, a problematic work that shocked European civil society at the time with 'Nora Who Left the House', is being performed in the 21st century. The subjects of analysis are Ostermeier's Nora and Lee Breuer's DollHouse, which proved to be a 'global' performance through long-term world tours, and Pulitzer Prize-winning Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2. All of these works have also sparked korean audience interest. This paper reconsiders and reinterprets the existing analysis while examining the individual characteristics of each of these works. In addition, It also explores and issues marginalized debates, and as a result, reflects on the politics of the work.
