본 고는 지역노동시장의 구인⋅구직통계가 지역내 총생산(GRDP)과 떠한 관계를 갖고 있는지를 이해하고자 하는 연구이다. 구체적으로 지역내 총생산의 변동이 구인 및 구직 규모, 취업률, 충원율 및 구인·구직기간에 미치는 효과를 분석한다. 전북지역의 구인규모는 지역내 총생산과 정의 관계를 보이고 있지만 취업률은 그 반대의 관계를 보여 줘서 호경기에 구직자들의 취업가능성은 오히려 감소하는 것으로 추정되었다. 구인·구직지속기간은 전북과 전국 평균 공통적으로 감소하고 있어서 노동시장의 효율성이 많이 향상된 것으로 보이지만, 지역내총생산과의 관계는 정의 상관을 갖는 것으로 추정되어서 호경기에 구직 및 구인 지속기간은 증가하는 것으로 보인다. 호경기에 지역노동시장의 일자리 결합(Job matching)의 효율성은 감소하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 분석결과는 지역노동시장의 일자리 문제를 이해하고 지역의 고용 및 일자리정책을 설계하는데 유용할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This paper aims to understand the dynamics of Chonbuk regional labor market with respect to macroeconomy. This paper looks at how vacancy rate, employment rate, recruitment rate, durations of job search and worker search are related to the GRPD fluctuations. Empirical findings are interesting. First, vacancy rate is increasing with GRDP, as expected. But, employment and recruitment rate is decreasing with GRDP, which means that job creations are counter-cyclical. This result is different from what is expected and has an important policy implications. Above all, it means that employment service is more necessary during good times than bad times of the macroeconomy. It is also found that durations of job search and worker search increase with GRDP.
