전반적 발달장애와 자폐스펙트럼장애의 개념적 비교

초록

근래 전반적 발달장애와 관련하여 자폐스펙트럼장애라는 용어가 많이 사용되고 있으나 이 두 가지 용어의 관계는 아직 명확하지 않으며 학자에 따라 다른 관점을 보이기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 관련문헌들의 고찰을 통해 전반적 발달장애와 자폐스펙트럼장애의 개념을 살펴보고 두 개념의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 두 개념의 관계를 세 가지 측면(분류에 따른 관계, 범위에 따른 관계, 활용에 따른 관계)으로 나누어 비교하여 살펴보았으며 그 결과 본 연구에서는 전반적 발달장애와 자폐스펙트럼장애는 서로 다른 역할을 하는 상호보완적 관계에 있는 개념으로 이해하는 것이 바람직할 것이라는 결론이 도출되었다.

Abstract

Recently the term of autism spectrum disorder(or autistic spectrum disorder: ASD) has been frequently used in relation to pervasive developmental disorder(PDD); however, the relationship of these two terms is not clear yet and there are various perspectives on it among researchers. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the concepts of PDD and ASD and to explore the relationship of them. The relationship was explored in terms of classification, compass, and use. The conclusion drawn from this study was that it's desirable to think that PDD and ASD are in a complementary relationship, roles of which are different each other.
