Abstract
This study examined the effects of video modeling on daily activity schedule to decrease inappropriate behaviors for a youth with autistic disorder. The study used a multiple baseline design across situation with a 19 years old male. The intervention program included a video modeling on daily activities of the subject such as eating, detachment and three consecutive activities at the homes. The intervention was focused on decrease in his temporary stiffness or extraordinarily slow behaviors. The results showed as follows. First, the intervention improved the subject's recognition and appropriate management of his targeted behaviors through the video. Second, the intervention decreased in the subject's challenging behaviors. Since the study results did not suggest any generalization of whether the side effects can be achieved in the general behaviors of other children or youths with autistic disorder, or whether the results of the target teenagers can be applied in any other places, future studies will be required to solve such problems.
