우리나라의 지역별 금융차입제약 정도와 자영업 구조에 관한 분석

초록

본고는 금융차입제약과 자영업 활동간의 관계를 분석할수 있는 일반균형 모형을 이용하여 우리나라의 16개 광역자치단체별 금융차입제약 정도를측정해보았다. 본고의 분석결과 우리나라의 금융차입제약 정도는 지역에 따라 상당한편차가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또 본고는 고용원 유무를 기준으로 지역별 자영업자를나누고 금융차입제약 정도가 각 자영업자 비중과 가지는 관계를 패널 회귀분석모형을설정하여 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 금융 차입제약의 완화는 고용주 비중은 증가시키고 순수 자영업 비중은 감소시키는 것으로 나타나 우리나라의 지역별 자영업 비중을설명하는 데 금융 차입제약과 자영업 비중 간의 일반 균형이론적 관계가 실증적으로도뒷받침되었다. 이는 금융 차입제약의 완화 또는 개선이 바람직한 자영업 구조를 유도하는데 긴요한 정책수단이 될 수 있음을 의미한다.

Abstract

This study assesses the level of financial constraint on 16 regions inKorea using a general equilibrium model which can be used to analyze the relationshipbetween occupational choice and financial constraint. The analysis shows that thereexists quite a difference in the level of financial constraint among the regions. Thisstudy also analyzes the determinant factors for entrepreneurship by separatingentrepreneurs as the employer and the self-employed using panel regression modelwhich includes financial constraint level as one of the explanatory variables. It turnsout that the strength of financial constraint is negatively related with the ratio ofthe employer to all occupation and is positively related with that of the self-employed. These results are consistent with the explanation of a general equilibrium modelabout those relations. This implies that easing the financial constraint can improvethe structure of entrepreneurship by increasing the employer and decreasing theinvoluntary self-employed.
