본 연구는 초등학교 자폐성 장애아동 부모들이 자녀양육과 교육시 경험했던 어려움과 문제점을 통해 지원받고자 하는 요구내용을 분석함으로써 향후 지향되어야 할 부모교육 프로그램의 기초자료를 제공하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 4명의 어머니를 대상으로 개별 심층면담, 선행연구를 기초로 한 부모교육시 자유토의, 그룹 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구과정에서 수집된 조사자료, 연구일지, 개방식 면담내용 등의 자료를 질적 분석한 결과에 따라 도출된 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애진단과 특성에 대한 이해 둘째, 문제행동에 대한 대처방안 셋째, 중등부 전환교육 넷째, 효율적인 부모교육에 대한 지원이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 자폐성 장애아동 부모의 다양한 요구를 바탕으로 향후 장애영역별 부모교육이 이루어질 수 있어야 할 것이며, 유치부 및 중등부와는 차별화된 초등부 부모교육 프로그램의 내용이 효율적으로 구성되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to find out the needs of a parent education program for elementary school children with autism through problems and difficulties of parenting experiences and education. Four mothers of children with autism participated in this study. Private depth interview, free discussion in parent education and group depth interview were conducted to collect information in this study. It was to offer basic data for a parent education program through qualitative analysis. Four themes emerged from the qualitative analysis : (1) understanding on the diagnosis and disorder characteristic (2) how to deal with behavior problems (3) transposition education to a secondary school (4) efficient parent education. Parent of elementary school children with autism can demand a different support from that for other disabilities and also a nursery and secondary school. Hence a parent education program should be accomplished systematically and efficiently according to the diversity of their demands.
