본 연구는 검도의 정체성 위기를 진단하여 방향성을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 검도의 정체성 위기 문제는 검도이념의 혼란과 검도철학의 정립이 미흡함에 의해 표출된 현상임을 자각해야 할 것이다. 검도의 정체성을 확보하기 위해서는 전통성 또는 한국적인 것에의 맹목적 집착보다 겸허함에 기반 한 검도의 한국화 과정을 기획해야 한다. 이와 함께 검도의 정체성 저해요인으로 단체의 다양성, 수련체계의 혼란, 경기화에 나타난 문제, 지나친 상업성 추구 등으로 설정하였다. 이를 통해 검도의 정체성 극복을 위한 지향점은 다음 4가지로 설정하였다. 첫째, 검도철학의 정립을 통해 본질적인 가치계승과 목적을 이해하여야 한다. 둘째, 수련체계가 정립되어야 한다. 셋째, 검도 행정조직의 통합 및 효율적 운영이 시도되어야 한다. 넷째, 검도의 대중화를 기획해야 한다. 이와 함께 ‘수련’과 ‘경기’의 이원화를 시도하여 수련을 위주로 한 검도와 경기를 목표로 하는 선수들의 경기력 향상을 도모하여야 한다. 이것은 무도의 방향이 경기화되면서 오는 무도의 정체성 극복을 위한 실천적인 노력인 것이다.
Abstract
In terms of swordsmanship, Ilgyeokpilsal (a deathblow) and the highly mental concentration are regarded as the most important, and on the basis of this spirit, it has meaning in proceeding with being equipped with own looks to do own best amid a life. However, in a situation that a training system of swordsmanship was not established, a swordsmanship group becomes diversified, and swordsmanship and the martial arts are inclined to commercialization, rather than the dimension of an educational means or the truth of human cultivation. Also, its essence gets discolored, and it is a situation that commerciality by market-economy logic is widespread. Accordingly, it is required to set up philosophy of swordsmanship, and an independent training system. In addition, it is needed to attain the combination of the swordsmanship-administration organization and the efficient operation, to establish a system as to commercialization, and to strive for popularization. Along with this, presenting a subject aiming to guarantee the identity of swodsmanship will be capable of becoming a cornerstone in fortifying an order, through developing harmoniously a training and commercialization and through securing the identity.
