체육학의 인과적 지식 정당화 가능성

이 연구는 체육학을 건전한 인식론적 기반 위의 학문으로 정초하기 위한 탐구로서 체육학과 학문일반 또는 체육학 내 분과지식들 간의 소통과 통합을 고려할 때 필연적으로 직면하게 될 지식 간의 인과문제를 다루었다. 지식의 인과는 각 학문 간의 개념들과 연구방법의 차이로부터 비롯되는 지식의 상충문제를 합의 가능한 인과의 고리로 연결하려는 교량화 작업에서 대두되는 개념으로서, 심신문제와 같은 근원적 질문에서부터 최근의 과학적 지식의 새로운 패러다임을 구성하려는 노력에 이르기 까지 인식론 일반에서 사용되는 중심개념 중 하나이다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 그 동안 과학철학을 중심으로 논의된 인과와 관련한 개념들을 중심으로 체육학적 지식의 정당화를 위한 지식간 인과의 문제를 검토하였다. 그 결과 체육학이 학문 일반과, 또 개별 분과들간의 인과적 지식 정당화 가능성을 높이기 위해서는 물리주의의 전제하에 환원 등과 같은 소급 문제와 창발성의 문제가 대두될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 아울러 이와 관련한 논의대상으로서 체육학에서 시도된 somatic education의 가능성에 대해 일반과학과 괴리된 결과를 지향한다는 점에서 부정적 평가를 내리면서, 현대 과학적 성과들과 조화를 이룰 수 있는 체육학적 지식을 지향하고자 하는 의도를 분명히 하였다.

Abstract

As this is a study for laying the corner stone of physical education as learning based on sound epistemology, it addressed the knowledge-based causal problem, which will come to be necessarily confronted when considering communication and integration between physical education and general learning or between sub-divisional knowledges within physical education. As the cause & effect of knowledge is a concept that is emerged in the bridging work of trying to connect the upper problem of knowledge, which originates from the difference in concepts and research methods between studies in each, with a ring of cause & effect available for mutual agreement, it is one of central concept, which is used in the general epistemology from the fundamental question like a problem of mind & body up to an effort of recently forming new paradigm in scientific knowledge. Accordingly, this study examined problem about causation between knowledges for justification of knowledge based on physical education centering on concepts relevant to the cause & effect, which has been discussed focusing on scientific philosophy in the meantime. As a result, it was clarified that the problem of retro-activity like restoration and the problem of emergency can be raised under proposition of physicalism in order for physical education to increase possibility of justifying causal knowledge between general studies and between individual sub-divisions. In addition, the negative evaluation was made in a sense of pointing to the alienated result from general science as for possibility of somatic education, which was attempted in physical education as the subject of discussion relevant to this. At the same time, the intention was made definite that aims to point to knowledge based on physical education available for harmonizing with modernly scientific performances.
